Dr. Russell Hartlaub is a professional geologist in the Department of
Mineral Exploration and Mining at BCIT. He has considerable
expertise in geological mapping and mineral exploration. In 2023 he
led a Critical Minerals field program for the Alberta Geological
Survey. Additionally, he has worked for the Saskatchewan and
Manitoba Geological Surveys, as well as an independent consultant.
Dr. Hartlaub has conducted research in British Columbia in
collaboration with Geoscience BC and the Geological Survey of
Canada. He has taught a wide variety of courses that include
Introduction to the Minerals Industry, Mineral Deposits, Mineral
Resource Estimation and Mineral Exploration.
